THE BOAT
The Worm generation was born from humble beginnings in 1999 and the rest was history. In 2016, the long-awaited building process began. Captain Drew wanted to build a boat that would maximize his customer's fishing experience with comfort and plenty of action space. Big Worm is a 52' long custom Chesapeake Bay Deadrise built by Millenium Marine equipped with a 900 HP Scania Turbo Diesel Engine. Big Worm is insured and United States Coast Guard certified to carry 49 passengers. The enclosed cabin features a large table adorned with cushioned seating for 10-14 people. There is a spacious head downstairs with separate commodes for your preference. Outside the cabin, there is also seating underneath the canopy fit for 8-12 more people. Featured at the captain's helm is state of the art electronics including radar capable of seeing storms 120 miles away, DGPS, color depth finder, chart plotter, VHF, CB radios and a Fusion sound system. The Big Worm is floating proof, bigger is definitely better.
In his early 50's, Captain Drew "Worm" Payne has fished the mid-Chesapeake Bay area for most of his adult life. Drew served as a first mate earning his stripes on a number of charter boats until 1998, when he purchased his first charter boat and promoted himself to the captain's chair. Wether he's trolling or chumming for rockfish, or chasing bottom dwellers like black drum, croaker or flounder, Drew often goes the extra mile for his customers to catch a few more fish. You'll often spot him at various boat docking contests in the area or at the best fishing holes. Once you ride on the Big Worm, you'll know that there's no other captain with a passion for fishing like Captain Drew.
